Moving fashion show 'Gets Happy' with Canning Conveyor

14th May 2014

Anya Hindmarch: Counter Culture for AW14 London Fashion Week Show 2014.

The latest Anya Hindmarch show was an absolute treat which showcased its AW14 collection featuring accessories. “Counter Culture” was this seasons theme, as guests were treated to an optical illusion as the giant barcode catwalk transformed into multi-directional moving conveyor belts and the show itself turned into something of an amazing film set.

Models appeared from secret doors onto the conveyor belts carrying shopping baskets and pushing trolleys holding accessories that represented a supermarket-shopping list brought to life. Clutches and totes featured recognised household brands and logos such as Frosties Tony the Tiger, the Kellogg’s cockerel, Ariel washing powder bags and Rich Tea biscuit packets.

The company who supplied all the moving parts for this unique show was Worksop based Canning Conveyor working with Inca Productions provided all the necessary bespoke systems to make it all work which included a total of five conveyors, two being 30m long, two 18m long and a central one 10m long, each fitted with black or white conveyor belts to compliment the black and white barcode theme.

“The show was carried out at the Old Billingsgate Market and all the equipment had to be hand-balled within the building to assemble together onto steel decking” Andrew Canning commented, “We had a team of lads down to install the equipment with the assistance of Inca Production, where we had to work around the clock to meet rehearsal deadlines.”
